Space making through Photography

Semester 5, Allied

Brief:

Space making through photography is a hands on, process driven exercise that uses the art of photography to model spaces. The intention is to use digitally crafted compositions in creating volumes of enclosures. It teaches students a different approach towards designing a space through creating compositions with photography.

Students:

The process followed for this exercise was very unique. We had to click abstract photos and compile them in a collage, to form a 2d composition. The lines formed in the composition were then, used to create a 3-dimensional space as per our liking. I shortlisted 4 photographs, clicked by me, and aligned them in a seamless way to create a composition, with the main idea of focus and rhythm. This then further helped me to create my design which, arrived organically from the composition.
