The National Building Code of India (NBC) is a comprehensive building code that serves as a national guideline for controlling building construction across the country. It is a document that contains construction guidelines for structures such as residential, mercantile, institutional, educational, commercial, assembly, storage, and even dangerous constructions. Designed by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), the National Building Code of India serves as a Model Code for all agencies involved in building construction projects, whether they are Public Works Departments, other government construction departments, local bodies, or private construction firms. Administrative regulations, development control rules, and general building requirements; fire safety requirements; material, structural design, and construction (including safety); building and plumbing services, approach to sustainability, and asset and facility management are all covered by the Code. The studio required the students to thoroughly study the NBC and create a graphically portrayed presentation that would allow the complete NBC document to be easily comprehended.
